Our Aims
Providing disability-related information
Our society is in need of a driving force that would bring improvements in policies for the disabled, and therefore we need to acquire information on human rights and welfare for the disabled. By providing papers, data, and original texts of information regarding policies for the disabled such as promoting their self-reliance, guaranteeing them a minimum standard of living, and granting them the right to labor, AbleInfo hopes to serve as a reference guide to researchers and policy makers. Also, we provide translations of foreign laws regarding the disabled, which will hopefully serve as a good reference for Korea's policies regarding the disabled.
Providing data for internet users
By providing disability-related information, we enable internet users to search for and acquire data of the disabled through our website.
Promoting the disabled's participation in making policy decisions
By providing disability-related information, we promote active and effective participation of the disabled people in making policy decisions. Also, by encouraging fluent communication among the disabled, we make efforts to improve policies for the disabled.

Main contents of our site
Information
By providing you with papers, data, and original texts of information regarding policies for the disabled such as promoting their self-reliance, guaranteeing them a minimum standard of living, and granting them the right to labor, AbleInfo hopes to serve as a reference guide to researchers, policy makers, and disabled activists.
Rights treaty
In the international society, many activities are taking place to encourage the ratification of treaties concerning the rights of disabled people. However, in the Korean society, even the disabled groups do not know what the international disabled rights treaty is about. Our site aims at informing the Korean people on the rights treaty and helping the ratification of the treaty.
Foreign Laws / Foreign Web sites
By providing original texts and translated versions of foreign laws regarding the disabled, we offer a variety of model policies concerning persons with disabilities.
Information Sharing among people with disabilities / Online Dictionaries
By providing a large amount of information regarding the disabled and an online dictionary that offers terms relating to the disabled, we enable people to acquire data and search for terms that are only available through our site. Also, we create an online public forum for people with disabilities and hold discussions and debates on how to make improvements in policies regarding the human rights of disabled people and welfare for the disabled.
English Web Site
We provide an English version of the Korean Laws, statistical data, and documents of social activities regarding the disabled in order to help people from other countries understand Korean policies for the disabled better.
The Human Rights Forum for Persons with Disabilities in Korea
The Human Rights Forum for Persons with Disabilities in Korea was founded in February of 2004. We try to devise theories and policies for the improvement of laws, institutions, and policies that would protect the rights and interests of disabled people, encourage disabled people's participation in politics, promote academic studies regarding the disabled, and promote mutual cooperation among our members and improve welfare of the disabled.
We believe that the human rights of disabled people can be guaranteed only when the disabled persons themselves take the lead in dealing with policies regarding the disabled, and therefore we
first, have disabled people participate in tackling disability related issues
second, encourage communication among disabled people in various fields, form a relationship and network among experts on disabled people and policy makers
third, hold regular forums, conduct research, help form a network among our members in order to let people with disabilities raise their voice in society and play a more important role in making policy decisions.
<The Human Rights Forum for Persons with Disabilities in Korea> hopes to serve as a public forum for communication and debates and an open network for our members, and we are going to do our best to improve the human rights, welfare, and happiness of the 4,500,000 disabled people in Korea.
